Reports: Paire withdrawn from US Open with positive COVID-19 test

Benoit Paire has reportedly been withdrawn from the US Open after positive by COVID-19.

The USTA aired on a Sunday morning without naming the player:

“One player tested positive for COVID-19 at the US Open and withdrew from the tournament. The player is asymptomatic.

“The USTA, with its medical advisors and the infectious disease specialist of the Mount Sinai Health System, has shown a positive result in the control of a player. In accordance with the needs of the New York State Department of Health and in accordance with CDC rules and aptitude for tournaments and protection protocols, the player has been be begged to be isolated for at least 10 days. It has also been reported that Richard Gasquet, Adrian Mannarino, Edouard Roger-Vasselin and Gregoire Barrere have been asked to remain at their hotel until further notice.

Paire, who seeded 17, was scheduled to play his first round on Tuesday against Poland’s Kamil Majchrzak. He has now been replaced in the frame through a replacement, Marcel Granollers.
