FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) – New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton has COVID-19 and will play in this week’s game opposed to the Chiefs, ESPN reported Saturday. The Patriots showed that a player tested positive but revealed the name.
It was not without transparent delay when the team would go to Kansas City for the game, which was scheduled for Sunday afternoon, if at all.
The team said the player had self-quarantined. The players, coaches and who were in close contact with him were examined on Saturday morning and all tested negative, the team said in a statement.
He said the team is consultation with the league and medical specialists “regarding our scheduled vacation to Kansas City and our opposite game to the Chiefs. “
