MANAMA – Prayers in mosques, collective worship and devout assemblies will remain suspended in Bahrain until the coronavirus point drops to the ranks set by the relevant authorities, the country’s Supreme Council on Islamic Affairs said tuesday in a statement through the Bahrain News Agency.
The kingdom’s highest devoted council has made fortnightly reviews of its decisions on the effect of the virus on devout issues.
The resolution to enlarge the suspension was adopted following consultations between the council and the medical group, the minister of justice, Islamic affairs and donations and the heads of the donations The Sunni and Jaafari, according to the statement.
Meetings and direct contacts maintain the spread of coronavirus at a higher point and have therefore prevented the fitness scenario from exceeding the point that would allow the council to reopen mosques and places of worship and allow devoted crowds, he added.
Therefore, and on the basis of its devoted responsibility, on the recommendations of sharia law to protect lives and not disclose them to danger or pandemics, and on the recommendations of the competent medical authorities, the council announces that prayers in mosques, collective and devoted worship meetings will remain suspended,” he concluded.
