State Rep. Jessica Gonzalez announced she will host a free flu and COVID-19 vaccination clinic at Cockrell Hill on Saturday, Dec. 16, from 10:30 a. m. to 10:30 a. m. 1 p. m. , at the Cockrell Hill City Council Chamber, 4125 W. Clarendon. Drive.
González’s office is offering the vaccination clinic in partnership with Dallas County Health and Human Services, the city of Cockrell Hill, Andrews Distributing Company and Ben E Keith. The clinic will take place
Gonzalez said in a written statement: “I need to thank our partners for joining our effort to bring COVID-19 and flu vaccines to District 104; 75211 is a ZIP code disproportionately affected by COVID-19, so It is imperative to provide more vaccination opportunities for this community.
“Getting vaccinated is the best way to protect yourself and your family against the flu or COVID-19,” she continued. “Getting the COVID-19 vaccine has been shown to help prevent severe illness, hospitalization, and death. everyone to get vaccinated.
The Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines, as well as the flu vaccine, can be given to anyone 6 months of age and older. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. No appointment is required.
Those with fitness insurance are asked to bring their insurance card and ID with them. Those who do have insurance can still get any of the vaccines for free.
Dallas County citizens who receive the COVID-19 vaccine will get a $25 Walmart gift card from the Dallas County Department of Health and Human Services, while supplies last.
