SARASOTA, FL – Almost all Americans don’t forget where they were during the 9/11 terrorist attacks that replaced our way of life on September 11, 2001.
The country gathered in ceremonies in the Sarasota region and other American communities to commemorate the loss of life and the resistance of Americans in the wake of the unprecedented attacks via hijacked al-Qaeda 3 advertising planes loaded with fuel.
This year’s commemoration ceremonies are likely to be others on the 19th anniversary of the attacks, not only in the Sarasota region, but also in the United States, as we face an unprecedented challenge, this time from a viral enemy we can’t see or hear.
Some 6. 37 million Americans tested positive for coronavirus, leading network leaders to take more precautions and improve security measures. While some communities change occasions online, others cancel events as a precaution.
Sarasota is one of many counties planning public ceremonies for September 11 amid the pandemic.
“The Sarasota County Fire Department will hold a rite at 8:30 a. m. on September 11,” said a county spokesman. “The occasion is limited to one presenter, but will be broadcast live on the Sarasota County Emergency Services Facebook page so that the network can practically see the rite safely. “
Sarasota city officials said they were making plans for any specific city occasion this year.
Services at the September 11 attack sites in New York, the Pentagon, and Shanksville, Pennsylvania, will also be others this year due to the pandemic. The organizers faced a number of obstacles.
In New York, Gov. Andrew Cuomo plans to send a workers’ medical corps to New York to oversee the annual “Homage to the Light” ceremony, which commemorates the September 11 attacks at the World Trade Center.
Cuomo said he’ll be available to “ensure this year’s tax is safe. “Cuomo’s announcement came a few days after the September 11 memorial and museum officials canceled the 2020 tribute due to coronavirus problems.
From now on, the new York City commemoration will continue to read the names of the victims. Family members will not read the names on the user this year; instead, recorded readings from the museum’s In Memoriam exhibition will be used for the ceremony.
In Arlington County, Virginia, located just outside of Washington, D. C. , the September 11 Pentagon Memorial remains closed to visitors due to coronavirus restrictions. Arlington County holds an annual commemoration ceremony, which will take place virtually this year.
In Pennsylvania, the National Park Service will hold an abbreviated rite in Shanksville. The 20-minute “Moment of Remembrance” will begin at 9:45 a. m. , a key speaker or musical guest.
The names of the passenger and the team member of Flight 93 will be read aloud with the sound of the “remembrance bells”, according to the agency’s website.
President Donald Trump and Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden plan to travel to Shanksville on Friday, while Vice President Mike Pence and his wife, Karen, will attend the September 11 commemorative ceremonies in New York this year.
