Real Madrid said today that their first team and training had tested negative for COVID-19.

In a summary on their website, the club said the negative effects came here by the latest COVID-19 tests on the team.

It arrives when Madrid, the Spanish capital, is plagued by a new wave of COVID-19 cases.

Madrid accounts for one third of the new instances in Spain.

The city reported on Monday, 144 of the country’s 432 coronavirus-related deaths.

Some extensive care sets in Madrid have exceeded capacity.

Some 27 districts in Madrid followed new blockade measures this week, preventing citizens from leaving unless they have to move to the tables or want medical attention.

The new measures went largely to the poorest neighborhoods in southern Madrid, where many live closer to each other in smaller apartments.
