The Director General of the National Council of Art and Culture, Otunba Olusegun Runsewe, has been appointed chairman of the Implementation Committee of the Post-COVID-19 Creative Industry Initiative.
The five-man committee was opened Tuesday through The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed.
The committee members are Ali Baba (vice president), Anita Eboigbe, Baba Agba and Joe Mutah as secretary.
The committee has six weeks to complete its mission. However, the minister warned that the time may be too short given the huge paintings he has to make.
The mandate of the implementation committee is to expand an implementation plan on the rapid and short-term relief of the arts industry as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic; and design a strategic fiscal rebate framework for other sectors of the arts industry, if it is known as one of the measures for immediate and short-term industry rebate.
It is also a matter of developing a detailed implementation plan for a long-term intervention for the overall progression of Nigeria.
Mohammed said the committee had been set up to ensure the diligent implementation of the report on the COVID-19 industry initiative, which was presented through the Ali Baba-led committee on 3 July.
