The New Mexico Department of Environment’s rapid reaction revealed that McDonald’s in Ruidoso had 18 positive workers at COVID-19.
Employees at the restaurant, in 140 Sudderth, are part of a group of 28 positive cases of workers throughout Lincoln County, according to knowledge spanning July 2 to August 19. The names of those who tested positive have not been disclosed to the media because the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) protects patient privacy.
On August 9, the restaurant was informed of the first case of a worker with COVID-19 positive.
On August 13, one worker tested positive at one point and on August 14, two other workers tested positive. On 19 August, NMED recorded a positive worker test.
Then, on August 21, thirteen workers from places to eat tested positive for a quick response.

“Our most sensible priority is to protect the fitness and well-being of our workers and consumers; nothing is more vital to us than the protection of our community,” reads in an email through the Karpenko Organization, which owns the local franchise.
“When we learned that workers at our dining room at 140 Sudderth Avenue in Ruidoso tested positive for coronavirus, we closed the dining room and informed local fitness authorities. “
