Rangers hero Ally McCoist is helping the Scottish nurse win £82,000 on The Wheel while the competitor leaves crying and enthusiasts love it.

FOOTY legend Ally McCoist helped a Scottish nurse hit the jackpot in the BBC’s game The Wheel, in an emotional moment that audiences loved.

The hero of the Rangers and Scotland, one of six experts on the BBC programme, hosted by Michael McIntyre.

He made the impression alongside former Labour MP Ed Balls, radio presenter Clara Amfo, comedian Sindhu Vee, journalist and presenter Stacey Dooley and Great British Bake Off winner John Whaite on the show.

McCoist, whose experience category was Scottish football, finished LAST of the experts in the final table of correct answers to questions.

But he discovered assets when it mattered when fellow Scot Helen reached the final round.

Helen’s other competition failed to win the prize money on offer, meaning she left with the chance to win £20,500 or £82,000, even if she only had to answer one question correctly.

Choosing to pass with the icon of Gers McCoist as his “expert” for the question, there was the £82,000 at stake (as McCoist finished last of the experts).

She joked: “I came here with nothing, I haven’t done anything so far, I think I have to stay with my Scottish teammates. “

The global response to which it had to respond fell into the category of “lost civilizations”.

It was: “The ancient city of Troy, site of the mythical Trojan War, in what country is it today?

The 4 were Egypt, Greece, Iraq and Turkey.

Helen said she was heading to Egypt, McCoist disagreed. He said: “Interestingly, I don’t think it’s Egypt, I don’t think it’s Greece, I’m leaning towards Turkey. “

“Greece is kind of a no-brainer. “

Helen has locked herself in Turkey, siding with the football personality.

She left crying when host McIntyre announced that this was the right answer.

It was an emotional moment when she and McCoist shared a warm embrace and Nurse Helen couldn’t hold back tears.

Helen, from Edinburgh, is a nurse working in oncology and described her work as “an A”.

He told the exhibit that if he won the money, it would serve to celebrate the life of his grandmother, who died of covid.

Helen said: “Unfortunately, we lost my grandmother last year and due to Covid, we couldn’t get the right message she deserved.

“I have a circle of relatives in Canada that we haven’t noticed since she passed away, so I would like to take my mother to Canada to see our circle of relatives there and celebrate her as she deserves.

“It’s been such a difficult few years, my sister is also a doctor, running with Covid for either of us and then wasting my grandmother, despite everything being able to take a break and celebrate is just. . . Thank you very much. “

She then told McCoist that she would take him for a pint, to which he replied, “That will be good for me,” and at the end of the show, she sent him some kisses.

Spectators of the exhibition enjoyed seeing McCoist as a guest, even before his winning contribution.

One said, “We don’t deserve Ally McCoist.

Another fan said, “Ally McCoist in #TheWheel? Yes, please. “

He commented, “Ally McCoist is incredibly goose. “

After Helen won the huge £82,000 prize, the audience congratulated them both.

One commented, “Ally McCoist, you’re an absolute legend! I couldn’t be happier for Helen there. “

Another responded: “That’s why she’s Super Ally McCoist. “

Someone else said, “Seeing how invested #allymccoist in this he earns in #thewheel @McInTweet makes me cry!”

Another said: “Excellent through Ally McCoist in The Wheel. He finishes last in leadership, the woman who did not answer a query bets on him for 82k and he tells her the correct answer. “

“Ally McCoist being completely useless, then making $82,000 with a woman with an incredible response is my favorite moment in television history,” said another.

And that sums it all up: “Ally McCoist has just made £82,000 for a young woman and once again advertises herself as a village hero. Ed Ball cries. What a time to be alive!”
