A U. S. Supreme Court ruling means a federal trial by felons over Donald Trump’s efforts to overturn his 2020 defeat could be postponed until after the 2024 presidential election.
The Supreme Court this week accepted the former president’s argument that he enjoys full legal immunity for any alleged crimes committed while in office. The ruling means the trial will be delayed until at least mid-summer, leaving little time for him to take a position. ahead of the presidential election in November. And many critics said the move was directly in line with Trump’s particular legal strategy of trying to delay his various trials for felons.

Baroness Warsi, his Conservative counterpart, suggested Rishi Sunak denounce “dangerous” anti-Muslim rhetoric. The prime minister wants to “find the language” to “call Islamophobia Islamophobia,” he said.
