Quirino Province registers first case in Covid-19

CABARROGUIS, Quirino: A villager here tested positive for coronavirus 2019 (Covid-19) on Monday night, breaking a five-month virus-free scenario in the province.

Gov. Dakila Carlo Cua issued the statement as  the Department of Health-Cagayan Valley reported 66 cases in the region on Tuesday.

Cua did not disclose the age and gender of the patient who was taken to Southern Isabela Medical Center for treatment and isolation, as he ordered a thorough search for physical contact and the application of stricter protection and fitness protocols.

“There’s no desire to panic, but we can fight the Covid-19 by dressing ourselves in a mask and observing social estrangement,” he said.

The new instances were reported to the quarantine services and hospitals Isabela, Cagayan and Nueva Vizcaya.

The island province of Batanes was released from Covid.
