Quebec reports 188 new cases of COVID-19 as hospitalizations increase

Quebec reported new infections of the new coronavirus on Thursday, bringing the total number of cases to 64244 since the onset of the pandemic.

To date, there are 56,624 recoveries in the province.

The health government recorded two more COVID-19-like deaths the previous day, only one that has occurred in the last 24 hours.

As a result, the death toll in the province increased to 5,773 and remains that of Canada, which has recorded more than 9,000 deaths since March.

The number of hospitalizations also increased for the time being on a consecutive day. There are 119 patients in the hospital, an increase of six from the previous day.

Of these patients, two fewer are under intensive care for a total of 12.

The province exceeded its testing target on Wednesday, the last day available, with 17,739 tests, and to date 1,817,362 tests have been administered in Quebec.
