Tours of the palm forest of Mau Nipa Bay will be introduced in Hoi An City, home to the UNESCO-recognized ancient city of Hoi An in Vietnam’s central Quang Nam province, for European tourists, an official said on Tuesday.
Nguyen The Hung, vice chairman of the Hoi An City People’s Committee, said the local administration has conducted an on-site survey in the Nipa palm forest to prepare for the opening of exploratory visits.
These tours delight tourists who love river ecotourism.
The visits will target European countries, he stressed.
While traveling, tourists will be taken to the primeval nipa palm forest near the Thu Bon River to explore unspoiled landscapes.
These impressive tours will be introduced this year once certain elements are completed, such as the dredging of river passages, the structure of the ports, and the status quo of vessel functionality sites.
Bay Mau, or Cam Thanh, Nipa Palm Forest is an exclusive forest spread over about three hundred hectares of land in the commune of Cam Thanh, 4 kilometers from the ancient city of Hoi An.
The forest extends within the buffer zone of the Cu Lao Cham-Hoi An World Biosphere Reserve.
It only serves as a habitat for shrimp and fish, but it also serves as a valuable protective forest in the province.
Opened to the public in 2017, the forest welcomes more than 3000 visitors every day.
