Qatar allows citizens to return at any time

EL CAIRO (Reuters) – Qatar eased restrictions on Wednesday to control the new coronavirus, allowing citizens and permanent citizens to leave outside the country and return at any time, and citizens abroad to return from 1 August.

The Government Communications Office (GCO) has said that arrivals from low-risk countries must perform a coronavirus check at the airport and signal a formal commitment to comply with quarantine at home for a week, the state news firm (QNA) reported on its Twitter account, opening one of GCO.

GCO said the list of low-risk countries will be posted on the Department of Public Health’s online page and reviewed every two weeks.

Travellers from low-risk countries who have received a COVID-free certificate from an accredited check center within 48 hours of checking will not have to make a check at the airport.

The measures are the third in a four-year plan to lift restrictions on coronaviruses beginning in early August.
