The Punjab government on Wednesday announced the opening of ancient sites across the province during the Eid holiday, Radio Pakistan reported.
The decision was made on the orders of Punjab’s Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to offer recreation to people on Eid days.
CM Punjab visited the ‘Shaman’, ‘Affiat’ and ‘Dar-ul-Falah’ centres of the Lahore Township Social Welfare Complex.
He cut Eid and shared it with special children.
On this occasion, he ordered that measures be taken to send the elders to the Hajj.
On Tuesday, CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif ordered the relevant government to tighten security measures for “Chand Raat” and Eid-ul-Fitr.
He also ordered the most productive security measures to be taken for Eid gatherings, especially in mosques and Imambargahs.
The CM said: “An additional police force of workers will be deployed in markets, bazaars and shopping malls. Senior police officials are also expected to be on site to review security arrangements in Chand Raat and Eid.
The CM stressed: “The police will have to work diligently to maintain law and order. The protection plan drawn up for the case will have to be implemented in letter and spirit.
