Christian Pulisic, Ricardo Pepi, DeAndre Yedlin and Kellyn Acosta entered the lineup as U. S. coach Gregg Berhalter made four adjustments for Tuesday night’s exhibition against Saudi Arabia in Murcia, Spain, the Americans’ final match before the World Cup.
Matt Turner stood firm and Yedlin at right-back while Sergiño Dest moved from right to left in sam Vines’ position. Walker Zimmerman and Aaron Long stood firm on center defense.
Tyler Adams and Weston McKennie joined in midfield through Acosta, who replaced Luca de La Torre.
Pulisic, who missed Friday’s 2-0 loss to Japan with an unspecified injury, replaced Brenden Aaronson on the sidelines and Pepi replaced Jesus Ferreira. Gio Reyna stayed in the band.
Pulisic topped a list that averaged 33 foreign appearances, for the U. S. U. S. From an average of 36 on October 15, 2019 in Canada.
Pulisic, Adams and McKennie combine for the fifth time after a 2019 exhibition against Ecuador, World Cup qualifiers against Honduras and Canada in January and a friendly against Uruguay in June.
Back at the World Cup after missing the 2018 tournament, the 14th-placed Americans open Qatar against No. 19 Wales on Nov. 21, face fifth-seeded England 4 days later, and close out the first against No. 22 Iran on Nov. 21. 21. 29.
