Public health reports possible exposure to COVID-19 on a flight to Moncton

New Brunswick Public Health showed that a COVID-19 case announced Tuesday to a foreign traveler that it may have been contagious on a flight to Moncton earlier this month.

Public Health is asking others who were on the following flights to self-control for 14 days after the flight for symptoms:

People who spread symptoms isolate themselves and call 811, Public Health said.

On the same day, Mount Allison University informed students and the university that a property user had tested positive for COVID-19.

Most people who came to Moncton from outside the Atlantic bubble would be told to isolate themselves for 14 days according to emergency order rules.

No new cases of COVID-19 were reported in New Brunswick on Thursday, according to the latest figures from Public Health.

One more case has recovered, reducing the total number of active confirmed cases to seven.

Four of the assets are in the Moncton area, or Health Area 1, two assets in the Fredericton area and there is an active case in the Bathurst or Area 6 area.

New Brunswick has recorded 190 cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic began in mid-March. Two other people died and 181 recovered.

On Wednesday, 440 tests were conducted for COVID-19. A total of 60,305 tests have been carried out since the start of the pandemic.

People involved for having COVID-19 symptoms can perform a government self-assessment check on gnb.ca.

Public fitness states that symptoms presented through other people with COVID-19 include: fever above 38 C, new cough or worsening of chronic cough, sore throat, runny nose, headache, new onset of fatigue, new onset of muscle pain, diarrhea, loss of sense of taste or smell and difficulty breathing. In children, symptoms also included purple marks on their hands and toes.
