The Presidential Working Group on COVID-19 reiterated its commitment to transparency and accountability in fund control.
National PTF coordinator Dr. Sani Aliyu told Nigerian news firm (NAN) in Abuja that the federal government had introduced two panels to monitor the country’s Spending on COVID-19 and other responses.
“The TFP, in its ongoing commitment to the donor sector and community, has developed an internal Excel-based scoreboard controlled through the TFP secretariat that seeks to capture all donations to the COVID-19 response.
“As a general rule, donations from partners and donors can be submitted to the Nigerian Centers for Disease Control (NCDC), the Ministry of Health, other MDA or states,” he said.
Aliyu explained that the dashboard is a central tracking tool that partners and sponsors bring and track promised materials, appliances and human resources through partners and what had been received.
The coordinator stated that the monitoring of donations was regularly aligned and matched with the knowledge of the NCDC and the Ministry of Health to ensure that it was as accurate as possible in the donation report.
Aliyu stated that the donation monitoring formula also collected income knowledge and reports, as reported through the Office of the Auditor-General of the Federation through COVID-19 accounts.
“The donation panel is connected to two transparency panels developed for the TFP.
“The first is the Impact and Response Monitoring Scoreboard developed through the Nigeria Economic Summit Group (NESG) and funded through the African Governance Initiative (AIG).
“And the COVID-19 resource monitoring panel evolved and financed through the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
“Both panels can be discovered on the State House website, www. statehouse. gov. ng/covid19/.

“The event and reaction monitoring panel is implemented in the national multisectoral plan to react to a COVID-19 pandemic of the PTF,” he said.
He also stated that the board is designed to provide real-time knowledge to federal and state governments, the personal sector, foreign organizations and other donors who sought to mobilize and supply human and clothing resources in reaction to Nigeria’s COVID-19 epidemic.
