The Nigerian Private Sector Health Alliance (PSHAN) and SANOFI have signed an agreement to adopt a 6-month COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy in Nigeria (C19-VHAN).
The study, to be carried out in one state in each of the country’s geopolitical zones, would assess and analyze the points of vaccine hesitancy in Nigeria and provide objective data that could be used to better understand the problem.
Speaking at the signing rite in Lagos, PSHAN interim CEO Dr. Tinuola Akinbolagbe said they are at the forefront of the race with the domestic and foreign progression community, to address inequalities in fitness access in Nigeria.
He noted that internationally, the advancement and widespread control of the COVID-19 vaccine has improved prospects with a reduction in the emergence of the virus, a reduction in the severity of cases and related deaths.

He said immunization programs have contributed to decreased mortality and morbidity from the virus, adding that hesitancy has prevented the country from recording optimal vaccination rates.
She said the 10-month task consisting of a cross-sectional study conducted in a state of Nigeria’s geopolitical zones would help fitness actors in Nigeria design awareness campaigns.
“The PSHAN partnership with Sanofi in evaluating the hesitation of the COVID-19 vaccine in Nigeria (HHAN) will take a position over a six-month period. This study will assess and analyze vaccine hesitancy points in Nigeria and provide objective information that can be used to improve perceptions of this problem.
