PANAMA CITY BEACH — Panama City’s beach will celebrate German culture when Oktoberfest returns for the third time at Aaron Bessant Park.
The three-day occasion will begin on October 14 in a family atmosphere with entertainment and activities related to Germany, adding music, games, contests, food and beer until October 16.
Panama City Beach’s Oktoberfest held its inaugural event in 2017 with its main event in 2019. However, the influence of Hurricane Michael and the pandemic affected the annual calendar and the event was canceled for three years.

“It’s been a difficult autumn in recent years, but the festival, regardless, is back this year,” said Grant Wittstruck, marketing director for PCB Oktoberfest. The main purpose is to have a great occasion this year and move from there. “
Tickets range from $8 to $149, with one-day, multi-day, and VIP passes available for purchase on the Eventbrite website. Children 12 years and under are free with a paying adult.
Notable breweries offering draft beer are Goose Island Beer Co. , Samuel Adams, Hacker-Pschorr, Props Craft Brewery, Proof Brewing Co. , Oyster City Brewing Co. , Breckenridge Brewery and Paulaner.
Over the 3 days, Oktoberfest in Panama City Beach will feature a variety of German-related entertainment such as Stein Hoisting competitions, trumpet blowing competitions, tug-of-war, food and beer tastings, and music.
Participants are encouraged to come dressed in their most productive Oktoberfest-themed attire to participate in the dress contests. In addition, visitors can enjoy food trucks, vendors, face painting, photo booths and children’s inflatables.
“We look to make this year’s occasion as original as you can imagine when it comes to food, beer and entertainment,” Wittschew said. “Our purpose is for everyone to enjoy this as a genuine Oktoberfest. “
Doors open at 4pm. Friday, with the official Tapping of the Keg at 5:00 p. m. It continues until 23:00 h, with musical performances by Beatrice and Derrol, The Czechers and DJ Will.
The festival continues on Saturday from 11 a. m. at 11 p. m. , with a tug-of-war contest at noon. Saturday’s musical artists are Beatrice and Derrol, DJ Will, The Czechers and headlining Will Thompson Band.
The festivities last from 11 am to 5 pm. Sunday. The last day includes more Stein Hoisting and Tug of War competitions, as well as music by DJ Will and a final performance by Sons of Saints.
Wittstruck said this is just the beginning of the continuation of Oktoberfest as an annual culture and that organizers plan to make it a bigger festival.
