A progression task could radically replace the Waterloo horizon.
The plan calls for the construction of a dozen towers on top of the former Kraus flooring factory, as well as the introduction of thousands of new homes in the city.
John Lukezic stopped by on Tuesday to check on the demolition work.

He worked at Kraus for years before they closed in 2018.
Lukezic’s father worked there for four decades.
“First thing I thought is, it’s the end of an era,” he told CTV News.

Waterloo council is expected to vote on the 12-tower development on Monday.
A potential new chapter that Lukezic can get behind.
“It’s great that the costs are low,” he said. I think there will probably be housing. “
The developer, Solowave, purchased the land from Northfield Properties nearly two years.
“We’re working with nonprofit housing providers here in the domain to see how we can attract housing to the project,” said Larry Kotseff of Solowave Investments Ltd.
The City of Waterloo has pledged to build 16,000 new homes by 2031.
“We are supplying 3,400 devices here, about 20 of what was planned,” Kotseff said.

The village has no undeveloped land and we had to think twice.
The tallest tower in the world would have 35 floors.
“The first building, we’re hoping, will be begin construction next year, 2024,” said Kotseff.
Green spaces, he adds, are also in the plan.
“One of the main features of this progression is an open formula of the central park of approximately 3. 42 hectares, and the progression is aimed at the activity of the central park. “
