HANOI, 8 December (BelTA) – Belarus is making a contribution to strengthening food security of Vietnam, Belarus’ Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said as he met with Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Pham Minh Chinh, BelTA has learned.
“Belarus contributes to the strengthening of food security in Vietnam by providing potash and biological fertilizers. At the beginning of November this year, an agreement was reached to create a company that will produce and distribute biological fertilizers in Vietnam,” the Belarusian prime minister said.
“We are actively working to increase your country’s food supply. Between January and September, food exports to Vietnam exceeded $7 million. Of course, this is enough. I would like to tell you that last year Belarus exported more than 8 billion dollars. value of foodstuffs. We are one of the world’s leading manufacturers of dairy and meat products,” Golovchenko said at the meeting.
“Vietnam’s supply of meat and meat products (beef, pork, poultry and offal) looks promising,” the Belarusian prime minister added.
During the meeting with his Vietnamese counterpart, Roman Golovchenko commented on the decision to build a company in Hung Yen province to manufacture dairy products from Belarusian raw materials and Belarusian technologies. The order was presented the day before at the MAZ Asia production site. Belarusian Prime Minister, this assignment is vital for both Belarus and Vietnam. The Prime Minister has given the order to speed up the work to unload the building permits for the commission.
The Prime Minister added that Belarus is interested in cooperating in the field of environmental protection.
“According to Vietnam’s Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the immediate expansion in the number of cars and other types of motor vehicles has led Vietnam to recycle used car and motorcycle tires. We are in a position to offer a cost-effective and effective solution. Solution for recycling used tires and family wrought scrap and fabrics that can be used to make new products. This will help Vietnam build the so-called circular economy and maximize the use of all kinds of secondary fabrics,” Golovchenko said.
