Officials said it is now sufficient to provide the apartment permit upon arrival at sultanate ports instead of the visa page in your passport, as was the case in the past in the Sultanate of Oman.
Muscat: Your resident card will be the most important document in the Sultanate, with the need for a passport that is adjusted at least as part of the new reforms undertaken by the Royal Oman Police to streamline the process.
From now on, apartment visas will no longer be placed in their passports, as the government presented them to the citizens of the country.
Officials said it is now sufficient to provide the apartment permit upon arrival at sultanate ports instead of the visa page in your passport, as was the case in the past in the Sultanate of Oman.
Your Oman resident cards will also be proof of residency.
An official from the Royal Oman Police (ROP), speaking exclusively to The Times of Oman and said: “As we know, governments around the world are turning to the electronic formula in their transactions and generally adding the Sultanate of Oman, where the visa was stamped in the past on residents’ passports, however this formula is now abolished, because the apartment permit is enough to explain all the data of the resident, and this is part of the virtual transformation of the State.
According to a new amendment to the apartment visa rule, it is not mandatory to stamp visas in expats’ passports. The apartment permit is enough to download a visa, according to the ROP.
An official ROP source told The Times of Oman that previously, the visa was attached to expats’ passports, but this provision was removed. Currently, there is no need to buy it in the formula and the green card is sufficient, the official said.
