VATICAN CITY (AP) — Pope Francis will invite Bahrain’s Muslim majority Nov. 3-6 to attend a foreign conference, the Vatican said Wednesday.
The Vatican said the pope would travel to the Gulf island nation off the Arabian Peninsula to participate in the Bahrain Forum for Dialogue: East and West for Human Coexistence.

Bahrain is 70% Muslim and, unlike Saudi Arabia, allows the small Christian network – made up mostly of foreign staff – to publicly practice their religion in the country’s two churches.
Vatican officials first announced the trip to Bahrain on the pope’s return flight to Kazakhstan earlier this month, but gave no dates.
