Poland catches an octogenarian with five pounds of heroin in a suitcase

WARSAW, Poland (AP) — Polish officials have arrested an 81-year-old Danish woman traveling from Africa to Canada on suspicion of illegal possession of heroin valued at more than $515,000. Customs officials at Frédéric Chopin airport check the woman’s luggage on Sunday after distrusting her itinerary and uncomfortable behavior. Packages containing five kilograms (11 pounds) of heroin were found under the fake back of a suitcase, customs said Friday. The woman was detained for 3 months and prosecutors opened an investigation. Under Polish law, he faces up to 15 years in prison for illegal possession of narcotics.
