Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in an exchange with philanthropist Bill Gates, recalled his government’s fight against the Covid-19 epidemic in 2020.

On March 22, 2020, others across the country clapped and clinked utensils in explicit solidarity with the emergency and fitness officials who were running tirelessly in the wake of the Covid-19 outbreak.

“Don’t forget, tonight at five o’clock in the afternoon for five minutes. . . Be on your patios, balconies, or windows to express your gratitude to everyone who works 24/7 to make our country COVID-19 free. #JantaCurfew,” reads the Prime Minister’s message on X-Day. On Friday, Prime Minister Modi recalled how he diligently followed all Covid-19 protocols in public to gain the trust of the people.

“I publicly followed all Covid-19 protocols to gain people’s trust. I sounded the bugle to clap my hands, break utensils, light lamps in spite of some ridiculousness. It was up to me to unite everyone in this fight. Once the goal was to protect themselves and others, it became a mass movement,” he said via ANI.

Prime Minister Modi said that when he pleaded with other people to wear masks, they listened to themselves and remembered him.

“It became a grassroots movement. Because in a democracy, force is not the solution. In a democracy, other people want to be convinced, informed, and empowered. In a democracy, education and collaboration are the engines of progress,” Modi said. .

“This strategy has played a vital role in the good fortune of our vaccination drive, where others have not resisted,” Modi added. He noted that the monetary challenge was significant because of the prices of vaccine research. “I also boosted other people’s confidence by being among the first to get vaccinated, along with my 95-year-old mother, who was publicly vaccinated. “I set an example and got other people to accept that this could save their lives,” the Prime Minister said.
