PM: Covid-19 instances are accumulating as a component of expanded check capacity in Armenia

PanARMENIAN. Net – The number of new coronavirus infections in Armenia has increased in line with capacity expansion, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a cabinet assembly on Thursday (September 17).

Fewer than two hundred cases were reported between August and September, however, that number increased above 250 on 16 and 17 September, Pashinyan said.

“The trend is worrying, I think we want to draw the public’s attention to all this,” the Prime Minister added.

Also on Thursday, Deputy Health Minister Lena Nanushyan said coronavirus now has a reproductive number of 1. 02, noting that this rate predicts an increase in the number of new cases.

The number of coronavirus infections showed the highest number of coronavirus infections in Armenia from 295 to 46671 on Thursday. So far, 42231 more people have recovered, 925 have died of coronavirus in the country, while another 283 have died from other causes.
