YEREVAN, AUGUST 19, ARMENPRESS. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made a video appeal with Asian Development Bank President Masatsugu Asakawa informed ARMENPRESS through the prime minister’s office.
Nikol Pashinyan congratulated Masatsugu Asakawa on his appointment as AfDB president and invited him to Armenia after the end of the epidemic.
The Prime Minister noted that the ADB was one of Armenia’s trusted partners. Several systems implemented in our country in the spaces of transport, energy, urban progress, health, schooling and personal sector progress provided through the Bank testify to the effective partnership links between the Armenian government and the Asian Development Bank.
“We appreciate ongoing cooperation with the BAfD and need to expand it further,” said Nikol Pashinyan. The Prime Minister welcomed the Bank’s monetary and technical assistance to Armenia to triumph over the economic effect of COVID-19.
Welcome to Prime Minister Pashinyan’s invitation to stop in Armenia, Masatsugu Asakawa is confident that the BAfD is in a position to deepen mutually favourable partnership with Armenia. The president of the BAfD welcomed the Government’s anti-conflict programmes aimed at minimizing the destructive consequences of the pandemic. It reaffirmed the Bank’s commitment to continue to Armenia through the bilateral partnership programme. Masatsugu Asakawa under pressure that the Bank will help Armenia succeed over the economic difficulties caused by the global pandemic.
Mr. Asakawa highlighted the effective partnership links established between the BAfD and Armenia, which facilitate the implementation of SME projects and several important programmes to expand transport, communications, energy, health, the monetary sector and urban infrastructure. The AFFD discussed a wide range of problems in the cooperation agenda between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Asian Development Bank. Views were exchanged on the epidemiological scenario in Armenia, the government’s anti-crisis policy and clients for cooperation in this Nikol Pashinyan thanked the president of the BAfD for his readiness to our country, noting that the Armenian government is preparing a package of measures for economic recovery after the epidemic, which requires closer cooperation with all foreign partners BAfD added.
