Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s approval of Egypt’s bid to host the 2036 Olympic Games.
The Youm7 newspaper said there is more than one sports building in Egypt that is in a position to host the biggest foreign sporting events, the vital peak of which is the Olympic Games.
The maximum of those buildings is the International Olympic City of Egypt in the new administrative capital.
The International Olympic City of Egypt is established on a 450-acre domain and includes a football stadium, with capacity for 90,000 spectators, an indoor corridor for 15,000 spectators and for 8,000 spectators, containing an Olympic complex of swimming pool, tennis, squash and equestrian complexes, a sports medicine hospital, hotels, an open-air theater, outdoor playgrounds and archery and arrow shooting ranges.
It also has a squash complex with capacity for 1,000 spectators, tennis complex with capacity for 3,500 spectators, Olympic swimming pool complex with capacity for 5,000 spectators, shooting levels (rifle, electronic and manual), 10 games of five against side courts, volleyball, basketball, beach soccer, hockey courts and multipurpose courts.
In addition, there is an open-air Roman theater and chalets, benches, service areas, administrative buildings, a ceremonial building and public squares stocked with giant screens.
