MANILA (Reuters) – The Philippine Ministry of Health reported on Tuesday 6,352 new coronavirus infections, marking the largest buildup in cases in Southeast Asia and after recording a record in five of the more than six days.
In a bulletin, the ministry reported that the total number of cases shown was greater than 112,593, while deaths increased from 11 to 2,115.
The Philippine capital and neighboring provinces returned Tuesday to a strict two-week blockade to avoid cases that have been booming since restrictions eased in June.
