NORTH NEWTON, KS – The Peruvian State Men’s Basketball Team defeated Kansas Wesleyan in a game, 84-79, in North Newton, KS, on Saturday afternoon. The Bobcats are now 4-0 overall.
In the first half of the game, the Bobcats couldn’t be stopped by the Coyotes. Sayvon Traylor (Sr. , Atlanta, GA) had thirteen problems and two rebounds in the first half. Skyler Wilson (Jr. , Omaha, NE) had nine points and six rebounds, while David Wingett Jr. (Sr. , Winnebago, NE) also grabbed six rebounds and added three points. AJ Richard (Jr. , Pearland, TX) had six problems and four rebounds for the Bobcats as they ended the first half with a 44-29 lead.
Ajantae Hogan (Jr. , Lincoln, NE) opened the second half with fumbles followed by a layup by David Wingett Jr. Hogan racked up a total of ten points in the half with three rebounds. Sayvon Traylor had nine points. David Wingett Jr. had 8 problems and six rebounds in the second half. The Coyotes couldn’t close the hole and Peru ended up with the win, 84-79.
In total, Sayvon Traylor led the team with 22 points and 3 rebounds. Ajantae Hogan added 16 points with 4 rebounds. AJ Richard had thirteen rebounds and five rebounds, while Ty Griggs (Jr. , Omaha, NE) had ten troubles. David Wingett Jr. grabbed twelve rebounds for the Bobcats and added 11 digs, with Skyler Wilson not far behind with ten rebounds and nine digs.
