LIMA, August 4 (Reuters) – Peru, the world’s second-largest copper producer, said Tuesday that its red steel production plummeted by 20.4% in the first part of 2020 with the same era in 2019.
The country’s Ministry of Energy and Mines said in a statement that gold production had also fallen by 34.7% in the first six months of the year, while zinc production had fallen by 23.7%. (Reporting through Marco Aquino, written through Dave Sherwood, edited through Chris Reese)
