While COVID affected intake and trade, Peruvian agri-food exports to the United States increased by 4. 7% between January and August to $1,274 million, an opportunity for Peruvian food producers.
The main exports to the United States were new grapes ($218. 8 million, an increase of 31. 9%), avocados ($165 million, 28. 9% less), new or chilled asparagus (6. 7% more), citrus culmination (72. 2% more) and blueberries (16. 6% less).
Other exported products were mangoes, artichokes, unfessized ready or canned vegetables, quinoa, unprofite and unsealed ginger, onions, bananas, cocoa beans, mandarins, paprika and others.
According to the Adex Global Business and Economy Research Center (Cien-Adex), food industry exports grew at an average annual rate of 13. 4% between 2010 and 2019, thus strengthening Perun’s presence in the U. S. market. and other Top Destinations, Adex hosts the Expoalimentaria Virtual 2020, which will run until November 15 the B2Peru platform, in which national and foreign exhibitors advertise their export offers to more than 500 buyers from five continents.
