Many passengers on the flight, who the FAA said came from Las Americas International Airport in the Dominican Republic, were horrified by the experience.
One young passenger, Paola Garcia, feared the worst, according to CBS WFOR-TV: “I think I’m going to die, actually. “
Another passenger, Yamil Elneser, said a wheel to the left of the plane flew out, causing some moments of fear.
“We had the impression that the plane was starting from the left side,” Elneser told WFOR-TV, “and it started shaking very, very hard, and then the plane went off the runway and we saw the flame. “

“We recognized each other back and forth and all the windows were breaking, and then everything was fine,” Garcia recalls. that. “
Balo Delgado, another passenger on the flight, recorded the chaos after touching his cell phone. Several other people looking to run off the plane can be seen and heard in photographs received via WFOR-TV.
Although he eventually felt “safe,” Delgado told the outlet that “it was a horrible experience. “
“It happened, like, a minute,” he explained, “and then you can see all the officials through the window doing their job. “
