Are you in Paris at the end of May? Well, be sure to stay for Le Grand Pique-nique, or for those of you who chose German, Spanish or Italian to receive information at the best school, “Le Grand Pique-nique”.
From the Arc de Triomphe to the intersection of Avenue George V, ephemeral kitchens will set the direction along the famous Champs-Elysées to enjoy a gastronomic picnic on the world’s largest picnic blanket.
On Sunday, May 26, LG Electronics is sponsoring this dinner and walking event, where 4,000 lucky tourists and locals will have the opportunity to gather around a classic giant red and white checkered picnic rug that mimics Parisian cuisine.
While it is a shame that this is a contest that we decided through a voting system, the Champs-Elysées is perhaps the busiest artery in all of Europe, where 100,000 pedestrians passed daily in the pre-Covid era.
Today, with tourism more popular and sought-after than ever, and although Paris still holds its position as the world’s most visited destination in terms of visitors per square kilometre, caution is advised.
Each selected guest receives a picnic basket to enjoy samples from the nine kitchens and the square of the giant plaid carpet seats up to 6 people.
There are also musical events, games and other environments.
FOOD TRIP: A laughter festival brings Muslims and non-Muslims together around the Ramadan snack organized through a street vendor.
To attend, visitors can fill out the prize draw form on LG’s online page here. Up to 6 more participants and one of the two services, 12:00 and 14:00, can attend.
In addition to giving national and foreign food lovers a moment of their lives, the town also aspires to break the Guinness World Record for the largest picnic blanket, for which it will count its mat.

Attendees will be able to learn in advance about some of the renovations that architect Philippe Chiambaretta is preparing for the post-Olympic redevelopment of the Champs-Elysées, valued at €300 million and which, according to the city council, seemed “worn out” in 2021.
The plan is to halve the number of parking spaces, turn some streets into pedestrian zones and turn the entire estate into “a run-of-the-mill garden”.
