Paralegal signs COVID-19 contract after arrest to secure Echanis remains

MANILA, Philippines – The legal assistant to the progressive Anakpawis Group who was arrested in the past for recovering the remains of a murdered peace representative tested positive for coronavirus.

Echanis was discovered dead on August 10 at his rented house in Novaliches, Quezón City. Friends and family were killed and tortured because his autopsy showed symptoms of torture.

“Anakpawis blames the QCPD for compromising Colabres’ fitness by putting him in a crowded penalty for potential prisoners in Covid, and for delaying his release,” he added.

After news of Echanis’ death spread, the peace consultant’s wife met his body and transferred him to the funeral home of his choice, however, QCPD regained the framework because it was not yet well known.

Investigators referred to Echanis as a guy named Manuel Santiago, in the photos discovered at the crime scene showing the victim’s photo. After QCPD took the frame, Colabres kept the framing to make sure nothing bad happened.

“The QCPD must be held accountable; not only endangered Colabres’ fitness, but also the entire criminal population,” Anakpawis said.

“Colabres has been in self-insulating and medical treatment lately. After his release on August 18, he underwent a swab exam at Capitol Medical Center and 16th,” he added.
