“I sought to have a circle of family in a place to eat where other people can come and constantly enjoy smart meals and desserts,” Cash said. “I enjoyed the idea of serving and being able to offer anything I know other people would do. “love in the community. “
Cash said most dishes are encouraged through the recipes of his late mother, Jeannie Abell, with some of his favorite dishes he ate in development. bread, soups and desserts. Guests can expect homemade meatloaf, fried steak, baked and fried chicken, fish, new pastries, chocolate cakes and pastries.
In the meantime, the dishes will be created through local chefs in the kitchen, and he plans to name those dishes after the chefs who created them.
“Everything I can bring to our restaurant and surroundings is generated by the locals,” he said. “I like to pay tribute to everyone who contributed because, without them, I don’t feel like I would have become what it is today. “. “
Opening the new dining spot has been an elegant year-long adventure for Cash, but he said he couldn’t be where he is today without the help of his committed team. Early in his career, he teamed up with Crystal Pitts, who was very supportive of opening the dining venue.
“I knew it was his passion. We were looking for the best place and one day we saw the opportunity to open in this area and took advantage of it,” said Pitts, who is also the restaurant’s general manager. “I couldn’t be happier with the way it all fell into place. We are excited to open our doors soon and start this new business. “
Along the way, Cash and Pitts discovered their workers one by one, which Cash described as the best storm.
“Through the hiring and expansion process, we’ve discovered some of the most productive chefs and waiters simply by bringing them together beyond assemblies,” Cash said. Outside because I know they’re going to leave happy. “
As a native of Panama City, Cash said he plans to keep local dishes so the logo is original and lives up to its name.
Expansion plans are already underway to open a place to eat for spouses early next year called The Local. The place to eat will be in downtown Panama City as a network medium serving seafood and oysters as well as his mother’s homemade desserts.
Cash said the ultimate purpose was for his legacy to be planted in Bay County to go with his family. Looking ahead, it hopes to open a third location in Panama City Beach.
“This is just birth for us. The purpose is to grow the logo where we can satisfy the desires of our local community,” Cash said. “For me, a big component of that birth is a family business circle that maybe one day leave my wife and children. “
