PANAMA CITY BEACH – The Beach will rebuild dozens of outdated roads next year.
At a town hall assembly last week, officials announced that approximately 40 stretches of highway through Panama City Beach are expected to be rehabilitated by 2023. That’s more than 17 miles of roads.
The allocation is expected to charge the town more than $3. 3 million.
“We are thrilled,” said Mayor Mark Sheldon. We need to make sure other people start and finish their day smoothly, so it’s imperative to have smart paths. “

According to the agenda, the sections of road that will be rebuilt are:
The explanation for why the paintings will be done in sections, rather than repaving entire roads at once, is that some of the roads have been built in phases, so parts of them are not yet worn enough to require repairs.
A staged technique also allows the city to fix a portion of the road in the immediate vicinity of a long-term capital improvement project.
Sheldon noted that resurfacing is expected to begin early next year, and he expected all sections to be completed by the end of the year.
“Our purpose is (eventually) to repave each and every street in the town that is in Panama City Beach,” he said.
