Panama announces reopening of borders for travelers with a new set of tourist safety guidelines

Panama announced this week that it will reopen its borders to foreigners from all countries as of October 12, 2020.

However, with the coronavirus pandemic still affecting countries around the world, the Panama Tourism Authority has worked intensively with the government to put into force strategic protection and fitness protocols that have been designed to ensure the protection of local communities and travelers in circumstances. .

“After ending our borders to travelers at the end of March, we are very happy to welcome Panama safely,” Minister Eskildsen said in a press release. “The new fitness and protection protocols reflect our continued work and determination to protect Panamanians and ourArray, and thanks to our efforts, they have obtained world travel’s Safe Travels seal of approval.

Implementation of the new conditioning and protection protocols will begin with travel prerequisites, adding a negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test on arrival, which should not be completed more than 48 hours before arriving in the country.

That said, if a traveler has passed more than 48 hours before arrival, they will be required to fast before customs clearance and will be guilty of covering the us$30 fee.

Travelers must also complete an electronic affidavit before registering on their flight, where they will have to agree to comply with all fitness control measures and will be available online from October 10.

Please note that once travelers have passed through customs and have left the airport, mask will be required in all public places, whether citizens and travelers. As in the United States, there will also be a greater presence of hand sanitist stations, electronic payment options, virtual menus, and other implementations designed for physical contact with others.
