Palestine retires from Arab League presidency

Palestine (MNN) – Shireen Hilal of Bethlehem Bible College says it is one of the most difficult periods in Palestinian history. “The Palestinians have been dealing with occupation, injustice and peaceless peace talks. All these things happen because of the occupation: unemployment, lack of work and lack of smart education. The schooling formula is bad, the fitness formula is bad, and then comes the COVID-19 ».

Palestine has been experiencing more cases of COVID-19 lately than at any time in the pandemic. It is bad news for companies that rely heavily on tourism.

Palestine has withdrawn from its current presidency from the Arab League meetings, discouraged by standardization agreements between Israel, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.

In a letter to Christian leaders in the United States, Palestinian Christian leaders say peace between Israel and Arab states means a lot if peace is applied to Israel’s own Palestinian neighbors. They point out that the annexation of Palestinian lands continues, either officially sanctioned or the charter ends as follows:

Pray that the peace of Jesus Christ will come to Palestine. Palestinian Christians serve a Savior who has risen from the dead and that suffering and oppression can end.

COVID-19 confuses restrictions in Palestine, but Palestinians were already making it much more difficult than Israelis. Hilal says: “No other people from Gaza can come to the West Bank and no other people from the West Bank can move to Gaza. We have a nation, but it is a separate nation”.

Hilal says the scenario in COVID-19 is much worse in Gaza than in the West Bank. Palestinian leaders in Gaza are not a united front and the fitness formula handles COVID-19. “If they do not get the right medical treatment, Gaza will be convicted. Not just because of the lack of infrastructure, but because of all the poverty. There’s no electricity, no water, no medicine.

Pray that COVID-19 will decline in Palestine, that others will have to receive medical care, and that tourism can resume soon.
