Pakistan’s PM Imran Khan says ‘bureaucracy’ slows development

Dubai: Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan said the projects he had presented had been hampered by the culture of “bureaucracy” in the country.

The Prime Minister stated that when he was in the UK while leying or playing cricket, he saw how well Pakistani citizens stood out after setting up their small business there, because the formula had facilitated them.

He said that for the first time in the country’s history, his government had given incentives to the structure industry. The Prime Minister was confident that the government would provide every comfort imaginable for small and medium-sized industries to develop, adding that the effects of these policies may take some time to manifest, but that the right direction has been defined. He also noted that many Chinese corporations were showing a voluntary interest in the business park, but would like to see more streamlined procedures.

Imran is confident that the government will provide small and medium-sized industries, entrepreneurs and industrial projects such as ease of doing business.

The Prime Minister appreciated the business-friendly measures taken through the Punjab government and said the creation of economic zones and an incentive package through the provincial government were steps in the right direction.

He also thanked Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar for the smart variety of the business park between two major cities, Faisalabad and Lahore, which are the two main shopping centers. He described the status quo of a one-stop shop operation in the Quaid-e-Azam business park as a step in the right direction to facilitate investors and industrialists.

Speaking at the event, Buzdar said Quaid-e-Azam Business Park covers a 1,536-acre domain, with dominance for 653 small and medium-sized business ensembles and near Lahore and the road.

About 500,000 more people would get jobs as a result of the initiative, he said, and said the provincial government would also provide 56 billion rupees (1.2 billion dirhams) in tax exemptions to counter the effect of the coronavirus pandemic. . Other projects to ensure ease of doing business come with a fund of 12 billion rupees for other young people to start their own businesses.

Prime Minister Imran, for the first time, diverted his attention from the provincial civil bureaucracy to public representatives, asking the Chief Minister of Punjab to communicate with members of the national and provincial assemblies and to download his comments on the prevalence of corruption and the quality of governance. He was confident that Buzdar could continue to serve as director general of the province until his government’s constitutional mandate ends in 2023.
