On his return from China, Pakistani Foreign Minister Qureshi announced that he would “voluntarily” isolate himself for five days to convey a message.
On his return from China, Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi trusted the country in its well-being, but announced that he would “voluntarily” isolate himself for five days to convey a message. During the global coronavirus outbreak, he claimed it was for “emotional support” at this difficult time.
“I am in very good health, but we want to convey the message that we want to comply with the recommendations provided by our experts. I’m not doing this for myself, but for the people around me: my family, my friends. I’m playing the role of the culprit and we’re all doing the same,” Qureshi told a news conference in Pakistan.
“They told me that when they were going through a difficult time, Pakistan supported them. Now they have said that if they want our help, we will do it through their side, their side, their side,” Dawn quoted the Pakistani as saying. He further said that the Chinese government has presented Pakistan with its experience, assistance in medical materials and protective equipment.

Qureshi, along with Pakistani President Arif Alvi and the delegation that visited China the previous week, tested negative for the coronavirus. The Pakistani delegation traveled to China to show solidarity with this “battleshipd” friend, which is the epicenter of the virus.
Pakistan on Wednesday reported its first two patients with the deadly coronavirus that has inflamed another 301 people across the country. “It is sad to announce the death of a patient in Mardan,” Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Minister Taimur Khan Jhagra tweeted last Wednesday.
Less than two hours after the tweet, Jhagra announced that a second coronavirus death had also been reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The number of cases in Sindh province, the worst-hit, reached 208 on Wednesday after another 19 people in Karachi tested positive, said Meeran Yousuf, media coordinator at the Ministry of Health and People’s Welfare, said the province recorded a total of 36 new cases on Wednesday.
Pakistan has a 960-kilometer border with Iran, whose main crossing point is Taftan in Balochistan province. The Taftan border has been closed since March 16, but thousands of Pakistani Shiite pilgrims visiting sites in Iran have been allowed to return to a two-week quarantine.
