Pakistani government re-opens Kartarpur hall for Sikh pilgrims from around the world October 3, 2020

As the Covid-19 scenario improved across the country, the government reopened the Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib room for Sikh pilgrims around the world. Visitors should comply with the rules of fitness and protection presented through the Government of Pakistan. —————————

The devout site closed in March after the Covid-19 case outbreak, recently Gurdwara reopened only to local pilgrims, provided they adhered to popular operating procedures (SOPs).

Sikh pilgrims from India will also be able to make a stopover in the Gurdwara under a 2019 agreement signed through the two neighbouring countries. A notification issued through the Ministry of Religious Affairs stated that Indian pilgrims can stop at the site from dusk and are asked to comply with Covid-19 safety guidelines.

The Kartarpur hall is of great importance to the Sikh community as it connects the two Sikh sites: Darbar Sahib in Pakistan and the Dera Baba Nanak shrine in Gurdaspur, India.
