Damascus, SANA_ A plane loaded with medical supplies delivered through the Republic of Pakistan landed Sunday at Damascus International Airport.
The aid, which includes medicines, gadgets and medical supplies, is aimed at the Syrian fitness sector’s efforts to tackle the novel coronavirus.
In a statement after receiving the aid, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Faisal Mikdad expressed the gratitude of the Syrian people for this generous gesture on behalf of their friends and brothers in Pakistan.
Mikdad said today’s delivery is the largest delivery ever made during the health crisis in Syria, and praised Pakistani leaders and others for their help to Syria, not only in difficult health conditions, but also in a joint action against terrorism.
Pakistan’s ambassador to Damascus, Saeed Mohammad Khan, said it had been agreed to send medical aid weighing 25 tons of coronavirus equipment.
He noted that the aid includes private protective devices and will be distributed to hospitals and corresponding government entities at the Ministry of Health.
Deputy Health Minister Ahmad Khleifawi stressed the importance of this aid in helping the fitness sector in Syria, which has suffered from years of war and still suffers from the economic embargo and unjust unilateral coercive measures that prevent the arrival of many medical tissues and equipment.
