The company, which is preparing the drug throughout Oxford University, is a pioneer in the race for a Covid-19 vaccine.
“As a component of the ongoing randomized and controlled global trials of the Oxford coronavirus vaccine, our review procedure was initiated and we have voluntarily suspended vaccination to allow for an independent review of protection data,” said a spokesman.
“This is a regimen action that will have to happen whenever there is a potentially unexplained disease in one of the trials, while being investigated, making sure to maintain the integrity of the trials. “
He added that in giant trials, diseases occur by possibility, but will have to be independently tested.
“We are running to speed up the review of the bachelor occasion to minimize any possible effect on the trial schedule,” the spokesman added.
It is not known without delay where the patient is located or the nature and severity of their disease.
Clinical trials are not uncommon, however, this is believed to be the first time in a Covid-19 vaccine trial.
AstraZeneca is one of the companies that has recently been in Phase 3 Phase 3 trials for its candidate vaccines.
In the United States, the company began recruiting 30,000 volunteers at dozens of sites on August 31.
The vaccine, called AZD1222, uses a weakened edition of a cold-causing adenovirus that was designed to encode the complex protein that the new coronavirus uses to invade cells.
After vaccination, this protein is produced in the human body, which prepares the immune formula to attack the coronavirus if the user becomes infected later.
