Ottawa has its COVID-1 numbernine hospitalizations in nine months

RECENT DEVELOPMENTS:

The Ottawa Department of Public Health (OPH) said its weekly Thursday check indicates COVID-19 degrees remain high.

Experts proposed that other people get their updated COVID booster vaccine for greater coverage compared to existing coronavirus variants, get a flu shot, stay home when sick, and wear a mask indoors and in crowded outdoor locations.

Hospital chiefs continue to highlight the strain they face as flu and bloodless season hits the pandemic.

While COVID vaccines and past infections offer some coverage, this coverage will decrease and subvariants will continue to emerge. There are also the dangers of prolonged COVID.

Sewage

The weekly average point of coronavirus in Ottawa’s wastewater is high. It rose slowly from early September to mid-October, fell for a week, and increased for more than a week.

As of Oct. 30, the average is about 5. 5 times higher than at the same time last year.

hospitals

Fifty Ottawans have been admitted to a city hospital with COVID-19, according to the latest update from PHO, which considers that number to be high.

This is the first time he turns 50 in the last nine months. This number has been in double digits since the end of June.

Three COVID patients are in intensive care, which is more stable.

The above hospitalization figures do not include all patients. For example, they leave out patients admitted for other reasons who later test positive for COVID-19, those admitted for persistent COVID-19 headaches and those transferred from other fitness units.

This is stable.

Tests, outbreaks and cases

Testing methods have been replaced under the Omicron variant, many instances of COVID-19 are not reflected in existing counts. Now, public fitness officials only track and report outbreaks at fitness facilities.

The positivity rate in Ottawa has increased since early September and is very high. Lately it is around 20%; It’s been about 20 years for about 10 days.

There are 54 active COVID outbreaks in Ottawa lately. This is moderate, according to OPH, and stable.

OPH reported another 273 cases over 4 days and the death of an octogenarian with COVID. A total of 927 Ottawans with COVID have died; 31 of them in October and 317 this year.

Vaccines

Ottawans gained approximately 12,900 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine last week, more than last week. Most of the vaccines administered in Ottawa in the past two weeks were Pfizer’s updated bivalent edition.

According to the most recent weekly update, 93% of Ottawans of legal age had received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine, 90% had at least two, and 61% had at least three.

Twenty-nine consistent with one hundred Ottawans’ 12-and-older had at least four.

Approximately 8400 five-year-olds gained a first dose, or about 18% of Ottawa’s population in this age group.

Smeared

Wastewater trends are declining in the Kingston area, and are superior and robust in counties Leeds, Grenville and Lanark (LGL).

Data from other areas are either available or are not available.

COVID verification positivity is peak and robust at 16% in the Eastern Ontario Health Unit (EOHU). It drops to about 14% in Kingston’s domain after a month closer to 20%.

Hospitalizations

The Western Quebec Health Authority, CISSSO, reports an increase of one hundred COVID hospitalizations. Four of the patients are in intensive care.

Eastern Ontario communities outside Ottawa report an increase of approximately 75 COVID hospitalizations, adding 12 in intensive care.

The 31 COVID patients in the Kingston domain are at a 2022 high and close to their December 2021 record of 35. All 16 LGL patients are at their highest in six months.

This regional count comes with Hastings Prince Edward (HPE) Public Health, which has another counting method. It reports a drop to 23 local hospitalizations and 3 more COVID deaths, for a total of 92.

Dead

LGL reported two more COVID deaths in its weekly update. It reported 69 such deaths in 2022 and 134 overall. The EOHU reported its 266th COVID death overall and Kingston’s dominance the 93rd.

All seven fitness authorities, plus Ottawa, have reported a total of 78 COVID deaths in the past four weeks.

Everywhere in Ottawa, more COVID deaths were reported in 2022 than in 2020 or 2021.

Vaccines

In Eastern Ontario, between 81 and 92 per cent of older citizens received at least two doses of the vaccine, and between 53 and 65 per cent of those citizens received at least three.

LGL citizens have already won more than half a million doses of the COVID vaccine.
