Ottawa adds thirteen cases of coronavirus before Labor Day weekend

Ottawa Public Health (OPH) reported a double-digit buildup in coronavirus cases on Friday when the city introduced its new driving testing site.

OPH added thirteen new cases of coronavirus on Friday, bringing the local total to 3022 since the start of the pandemic.

No new COVID-19-like deaths were reported in the last update, and the number of active instances of the virus remained unchanged in 199.

The number of other people hospitalized with COVID-19 also remained unchanged at 11, with one user in intensive care.

Three new coronavirus outbreaks reported in PAHO’s most recent report: two outbreaks at Ottawa Carleton Children’s Village in Odessa and Ritchie Street, and one in the Gatineau Building of the Perley-Rideau Veterans Health Center.

Two outbreaks in the long-term care center of St. Louis and a local Christian Horizons center declared themselves complete, leaving 19 outbreaks underway in Ottawa.

Tests can be conducted on the Coventry Road online page through an appointment with reservations only through the OPH online page.

My thanks to @ottawafitness @OttawaHospital and our regional fitness partners for their paintings at the opening of the first COVID-19 the wheel control center in Ottawa.

This is a step in expanding our testing strategy.
