The number of coronavirus cases in Ottawa increased to 17 on Friday, ending a busy week for new cases of COVID-19 in the nation’s capital.
Ottawa Public Health (OPH) has reported 95 new virus cases since Monday, bringing the total local number of cases to 2910 as of Friday.
The number of active cases of the virus has also increased during the week, and OPH now reports 193 ongoing cases of COVID-19 in the city.

Thirteen other people have recently been hospitalized with COVID-19, two of whom are in intensive care.
There were no new deaths similar to the virus and no new coronavirus outbreaks were reported on Friday.
