Liberal MP Zoe McKenzie said the Israeli people were “very disappointed” by Australia’s vote for a ceasefire in Gaza.
Ms McKenzie joined Sky News Australia and recounted her reporting on trips to Tel Aviv and Palestinian authority locations such as Ramallah.
“There was an earlier day when Canada and New Zealand detected the devastation caused by Hamas and the desire to eliminate the terrorist threat,” he said.
“But the U. N. vote itself had none of those caveats.
“So there was obviously some disappointment . . . however, it would have been greater if we had been much clearer about this UN vote and abstained or made sure that the solution contained the notification related to Hamas and that it had done so, and that Hamas will have to be eliminated as a political and military force in Gaza. »
