CPAC is the wonderful annual gathering of official American conservatism. Nowhere else will such ardent devotion to God, Country, and Constitution be felt. Nowhere else, speaker after speaker will tell you that the United States is the greatest country in history, and then tell you that they are on the brink of destruction.

But this year, anything ruled even God, the country, and the Constitution: Donald John Trump. He, of all Americans, can and will save America from communists, Marxists, socialists, and globalists. CPAC idolizes this man, but no more than it idolizes itself. And unlike two years ago, there have been countless outright claims that men are not women, that Israel is our greatest ally, and that the southern border is an embarrassment.

CPAC is predominantly white; It’s unexpected to see a black face, and there are only a handful of Asians or Hispanics. But of course, its whiteness is accidental; It’s really a shame. The audience applauds the black speaker frantically.

There has been a lot of clamor about “the invasion” and many calls for the “largest deportation program in American history,” but I’ve never heard the words “the wonderful replacement” or even any similar suggestion. Illegal immigration is bad because it is illegal and uncontrolled; That means human trafficking and fentanyl. This overwhelms social services. But I didn’t hear a word about the dispossession of whites or even the displacement of Christianity, which many speakers said affects their own identity and that of the United States.

CPAC is a tragic spectacle: thousands of serious, patriotic white people who are determined to “fight for America,” but who don’t understand (or, if they do, don’t admit) that the America they think they’re fighting against. Because he’s going to die. The country took this for granted until the mid-20th century, but not a single word can be said about it at CPAC. Speakers denounce “canceling culture” and “censorship,” but “conservatives” police discourse is as rigorous as YouTube. In the remote past, it was conceivable to ask questions from the living room; This is no longer imaginable. Who knows what heresies we might be talking about?

In other ways, it was an unexpected CPAC. Compared to the Orlando meeting, which I attended two years ago, the crowd seemed smaller, which was for an election year, even though registration was only $95 instead of $290. Several other people who attended Turning Point USA events have told me that they are attracting more and more people and attracting many other young people.

Compared to 2022, the exhibit hall was small and desolate, and there were stranger things for sale: tears awakened to drink from the bottle, a vibrating device you climb on to decrease tension and your sex life, a Trump hammock for $545. 25. even a pinball game about the Jan. 6 insurrection that is won by canceling the election.

And then there were the crackpots. The Trump tribe is well-stocked and a cross-dresser Lady MAGA walked every day.

Broadcasters pay to set up studios on site, so they can recruit speakers for interviews. There’s Vox en español, Andrew and Jerry were saving the world, you can see American thought leaders in action in person, and there’s a girl who will help you take back your power.

In the main hall, which was meant to hold another 2,000 people but was partially empty, speakers drifted in and out of the level to the sound of hard-hitting disco music. There were a lot of panels and even most of the individual speakers were no more than 15 minutes old. Once they’re done congratulating the audience for being there and praising God and Donald Trump, there hasn’t been much time to think deeply, however, deep thinking isn’t what the audience needs. You need to shout, clap and look at celebrities: Although speakers are far away, most people can only see them on giant video screens.

Florida’s black congressman, Byron Donalds, won what appeared to be the mandatory affirmative action ovation. “What hurts us most is that we are divided,” he said, explaining that “the fact that the United States is in a dominant position is the most productive thing for the other peoples of the world. “”We stand with Israel in eliminating Hamas from the face of the earth. He strongly opposed the “invasion” and asked Joe Biden, “What issues are you more interested in: the U. S. borders or the Ukrainian border?”(Applause) He said if the government had to be around to close the border, we closed it.

The first thing Mark Robinson said was that he was the first black lieutenant governor of North Carolina and that he was determined to become the first black governor. (Loud applause) He said that Donald Trump would save us from “open borders,” that “God gave us freedom and we will have to protect it,” and that “David beat Goliath because he enjoyed God. “(Standing applause)

Sen. Tommy Tuberville of Alabama said he retired from school football training to run for Senate “because our kids are being indoctrinated through the socialist, awake, gendered DEI schedule. “”All of this goes back to Christian morality. ” The Democrats “hate Christianity, and if you take away the Constitution, they function like they have a crucifix. “But “Donald Trump will win, and we will bring Christian values back to this country. “He said sports made the U. S. “the greatest country of all time,” but also added, “I didn’t vote a penny for Ukraine because I know they can’t not win. “He was confident that we would succeed because “our number one asset is our young people” and perhaps he doesn’t know that whites already make up a minority of Americans under the age of 18.

I paid special attention to a panel titled “Trump’s Wall Against Biden’s Shortcomings. “Congressman Mark Green, who is leading the impeachment process against Alejandro Mayorkas, said he had an “irrefutable” document in which the DHS secretary told the firm not to enforce the law. He said he would present a full impeachment case to the Senate, but that Sen. Chuck Schumer would do everything he could to prevent it, as it would be a constant reminder of President Biden’s betrayal at the border. Green noted that so many Chinese and When terrorists come, “all of us are scared to death. “If we ever fight China, he said, “the Chinese will be spying on behalf of China. “There was great applause when he said Trump promised mass deportations.

Tom Homan, former director of ICE, echoed this promise: “You illegals don’t get too comfortable. He noted that because nine-tenths of asylum programs are rejected, the law requires them to be deported, which means millions of expulsions. He called Biden “the first president to take office and intentionally worsen border security. “He’s angry because “the more illegal immigrants there are, the more they die trying, the more Americans die from fentanyl, and the more women are raped and trafficked. “He did not mention any other explanation for impeding the flow.

There was a sign that said “Genesis 1:27,” the Bible verse that says, “So God created mankind in his own image, he created them male and female. “The message to the “transgender for-profit industry”: “Stay away from our children. “

Liz Truss, who was British prime minister for forty-five days in 2022, explained that the left “and its wake-up timetable and the DEI are aided and abetted by our enemies abroad, Russia, Iran and especially the Chinese. “the British of RINOS or C-NO, “Conservatives only on guard”.

“It’s not enough to have the right concepts and be in power,” he said. Conservatives want to be brave enough to do things that involve “not being invited to dinner parties. “In a hostile environment of media, universities, and churches, “they want to be in power, not just in office,” a cool phrase.

Amid much applause, Miss Truss said that Britain and the United States “are exceptional; we are wonderful nations,” but the ominous name of her forthcoming e-book — which she vigorously promotes — is Ten Years to Save the West. To-do list: cut taxes, govern the administrative state, secure our borders, and make sure other people can start families.

Shortly after her speech, I surprised a Daily Mirror correspondent by explaining that the Truss technique would be a general failure because it would not sustain the white West. “Africans and Muslims don’t give a shit about the 1066 Agreement or the Magna Carta. I said. They hate Britain and everything the West stands for. “

Three Jews were part of a panel titled “Would Moses Go to Harvard?”Newsweek’s Josh Hammer said he was harassed while trying to lecture at a university: “I saw evil, I saw absolute evil. “He then criticized his detractors because “they see you as a natural evil. “Brooke Goldstein founded the Lawfare Project, made up of six hundred lawyers whose “sole goal is to defend the Jewish community. “He explained that Jews fought for the rights of gays, blacks and immigrants, “but there was never a movement of Jews for Jews. We Jews have never taken advantage of the legal formula for our own benefit. The Lawfare Project sued Columbia and Carnegie Mellon for allowing Palestinians to express their hatred and persecute Jews. “Anti-Semitism is a civil rights issue,” he said, and “we will continue to record those basic civil rights court cases until we end Jew-hatred in our lifetime. “

I heard that there were pro-Palestinian demonstrations with swastikas. As to whether Moses would attend Harvard: “Would he even be admitted to Harvard? You may even be assaulted. A Jewish student at the University of Santa Barbara said that “the academy has been inflamed with horrific anti-Semitism” and that “publicly visual Jews face hate. “

A panel titled “Babies Are Us” emphasized that “explaining fetal development” is the key to ending abortion. “We protect life from conception to death with herbs” because “God created one of us. “

I wanted to hear from Tulsi Gabbard, but before her speech, I identified and interviewed an independent film crew that was making a documentary about Donald Trump’s bid for a second term in 2024.

Nayib Bukele, El Salvador’s 43rd president, is known for reducing crime by incarcerating tens of thousands of criminals. He was almost taken aback by the enthusiastic cheers before he even began to speak, in strangely intelligent English.

He highlighted the conference’s theme for 2024: “CPAC is the position where globalism comes to die. “In El Salvador, he says, he’s already dead. He explained that the procedure required two civil wars and 250,000 deaths, and that “we won’t have to wait 50 years. “”Look at Baltimore, Philadelphia, Portland, San Francisco. La crime and drugs because the police are afraid to do their job. “work. That’s what we had. ” Look at the other people who help in this. Is it out of ignorance or intention?” We had to fire corrupt judges, lawyers, and prosecutors. (Thunderous applause) We have gone from being the most harmful country in the world to the safest country in the world. the Western Hemisphere. (More thunderous applause) “We don’t politicize our judiciary or prosecute our opponents. “

“The other Salvadorans have woken up and so have you. “Institutions are created to serve others, not the other way around. . . Don’t protect institutions; defend the principles that created them.

Bukele provided tax advice. The U. S. financial formula is paper-subsidized through paper. The U. S. national debt is a bubble that will inevitably burst. “Unless Americans “change government from the most sensible to the lowest” and debt, “the dollar will fall and with it civilization will collapse. “”.

“God bless El Salvador. God bless the United States. May God bless our countries. He left the level to a standing ovation. I never imagined that I would see a room full of white Americans yelling at a Palestinian-Salvadoran (rightly so) telling them how to govern the United States.

Daily Wire editor and podcaster Michael Knowles had some clever lines: “America has an identity crisis because it can’t respect its borders. “”Diversity is not a strength. ” We are not a country of immigrants. “Liberals need what they call liberation, but it is “a liberation from borders, from norms, and even from biology. “However, the solution is strictly spiritual. ” When other people prevent them from being religious, the Constitution prevents them from working” and “the decline of faith has eroded our identity. “

Stephen Miller, a former White House adviser and director of America First Legal, echoed Liz Truss: “There’s something damaged in the conservative brain. Conservatives are afraid to gain and use genuine power. . . One chooses other people in the hope that “This is not the case. Miller called the targeted prosecution of conservatives “the biggest serious challenge facing this country. “He argued that liberals are abusing “neutral legislation to prosecute us,” but that we do it better: “pass legislation that protects our friends and harms our enemies” and “when Democrats break the law, bring it up. “

As for immigration, “it’s simple: seal the border and deport all illegal immigrants. (Applause) It’s the implementation that’s tricky. ” From a practical standpoint, “the National Guard will be there to identify a castle position on the border and say, ‘No one can get through here. ‘

Florida Congressman Cory Mills, a member of the panel on the Second Amendment, said, “Our greatest enemy is the government of the United States. As a member of Congress, I suppose you know this, but you were wrong: “After Pearl Harbor, the Japanese refused to invade the United States because they were afraid that there would be an armed citizen behind every blade of grass. They invaded the U. S. territory of Guam in the early days of the war and attempted to invade Midway as a springboard to Hawaii.

Congressman Mills also explained that “what helps keep America relaxed and armed is an armed population” and that “our Constitution is backed by our Christian faith. “”The Second Amendment,” he added, “protects the First Amendment. “

Jack Posobiec, of Human Events and Turning Point USA, probably the ultimate dissident speaker in the past, but his speech was popular at CPAC. The United States is “the greatest country in the history of the world” and Donald Trump will save us from “Democrats who talk about democracy, but mean authoritarianism. “Not only does it need to “drain the swamp,” but it also needs to “build a bright new city. “He said that “there are signs that the West is going to return to normal. “his feet” and indexed some of them, beginning with the striking examples of J. K. Rowling ‘now on our side’ and Julian Assange. Se a little closer to the fact by mentioning Elon Musk, one of the few speakers who mentioned Mr. Musk – and “Bukele showed us the way. “

Kristi Noem, the governor of South Dakota, has confidence, even charisma, and after listening to her speak, I understand why other people think she is likely to have a long career in national politics, even if her speech is nothing remarkable. “There are two other types of people in this country: other people who love America and other people who hate America. “She said that when she has to make a resolution as governor, she asks, “Do I have the [constitutional] authority to do this?? She is very proud that she has never closed a single business or issued a single order due to Covid.

Gov. Noem has warned that it’s because of her that South Dakota has the highest birth rate in the country. “The other people of South Dakota are happy,” he said, noting that it helps not to have a source of income taxes. She said she was proud to have been the first governor to send a contingent of guards to the Texas border. “I showed up to send barbed wire if Gov. Abbott needed more. “

Gov. Noem gently indulged in the frivolous vulgarity that prevailed throughout the weekend: “I’ll just say it: Joe Biden and Kamala Harris suck. (Applause) Donald Trump, of course, will save “the greatest country on the planet. “

I was disappointed by Santiago Abascal, president of the so-called “far-right” and “anti-immigrant” Vox party in Spain. Above all, he worried that “socialism destroys our society and hates our values” and that the left has a “totalitarian preference for power. “It is unfortunate that Harvard, once great, is now subject to censorship and anti-Semitism. He opposed “massive illegal immigration,” but for reasons: “it causes distress in countries of origin and destroys security in our countries. “

Senator J. D. Vance earned a standing ovation. “It’s absurd to spend so much cash and resources on a border standoff six thousand kilometers away [in Ukraine] when our borders are wide open. “We’ve sent them decades of weapons and we’ll have nothing left if we have to fight China. According to him, the real challenge is that the left hates Russia and the Democrats have abandoned diplomacy. “We want a diplomatic solution,” he said. We will have to do whatever it takes to avoid bloodshed. “

“The border crisis is the biggest crisis we’ve ever had,” he said, and that’s intentional, because Joe Biden needs more Democrats. He also warned that even before they can vote, illegals count for congressional seats, thus giving strength to blue states. He made an appealing comment: Most people come out of Congress much richer than they came in because they’re corrupt. Donald Trump left the workplace poorer than when he arrived, and that would be one explanation for why you voted for him.

Host Megyn Kelly noted that hatred of Donald Trump had led the media to engage in “overt propaganda. “They are now a “left-wing propaganda machine” that “despises the MAGA voter,” but an apparent bias has “destroyed the industry. “He added that the prosecution of Mr. Trump means that “we have crossed the Rubicon. “He believes Fani Willis will be expelled from the case in Georgia and wonders if other prosecutors will be willing to step in. She’s the only one to point it out: “The only ‘advantage’ of today’s anti-Semitism is that our Jewish friends finally realize how dangerous and misguided DEI is. “

There was a panel on “Bidenomy” that denounced censorship, but only called Covid and Biden’s computer exsufficient. There was enough applause when one panelist shouted, “We’re not going to let them take away our fuel stoves. I learned that “One of the most evil organizations in America is AARP,” because it’s in the pocket of big medicine. Another nefarious organization is Pharmacy Benefit Management. I also learned that “Biden’s most harmful policy is power. politics” and that “once Trump returns to the White House, it will be ‘Drill, honey, drill. ‘”

A panel of doctors also denounced censorship but disagreed with the reviews on Covid.

Unsuccessful gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake told us, “Ronald [Reagan] and Donald were the best men at the time. “”Let me hear it on the lips of the ladies,” he said. Don’t we need alpha males? (Strong yes refrain)

Miss Lake told the media directly at the back of the room that her corporations would go bankrupt, “and that when you all lose your jobs, maybe you can be briefed on the code. “(Applause) As for illegal immigration, “we want to send those invaders back to their countries of origin. It will be the largest deportation program in U. S. history. He warned that tax money was being invested “in the black hole that is Ukraine,” and hopes that a senator can “stop the slide into Marxism. “

“God is with us,” he said. He’s moving mountains for us now. It brought me down to earth at that very moment.

Tom Fitton is the president of Judicial Watch, which he has called “his watchdog in Washington. “He denounced “selective, vindictive and unconstitutional prosecutions designed to turn the country into a one-party state. “What can we do in return? Sue (Applause) “Biden’s family will have to be charged with running a RICO organization. Like others, he said that if the price to pay for the final frontier is a government shutdown, it will have to be closed.

Mr. Fitton, the only speaker I heard mention of Ashli Babbitt, who was shot dead on January 6. Judicial Watch filed a wrongful death lawsuit on her behalf “and if it takes 30 years to get justice for Ashli, it will be 30 years. “well spent. ” (Lots of applause)

Javier Milei, the newly elected president of Argentina, gave a long and boring speech about the importance of the flexible market. His message: “Socialists are ruining our lives. “

Vivek Ramaswamy said the only way to drain the swamp — completely — is to “lay off three-quarters of government employees. “He, too, was applauded when he called for “the largest mass deportation in American history. “He warned that the Democrats were setting a trap because “Joe Biden is not going to be the nominee. They’ll move the old man and install someone else they can control. “

If, as he says, “the Constitution is the greatest guarantee of liberty in the history of the world,” it works very well. Ramaswamy called cross-border human trafficking “the greatest crime in human history. “

Steve Bannon screamed like crazy. Donald Trump, he roars, is the greatest president of the 20th and 21st centuries. He and two other presidents, Lincoln and Washington, “linked their non-public fate to the fate of the nation. “Bannon had glorious proof that the 2020 election had been stolen: “The New York Times is throwing Biden under the bus and backing off. This shows that they know he is an illegitimate president.

He called Biden’s family “vermin” and addressed the president: “You and your family are just garbage. “As for the allegations against Mr. Trump: “You know it’s shit, he knows it’s shit, they know it’s shit. Mr. Trump’s only crime has been to betray the elegance of the rulers by seeking to make the country greater for working people. To the media at the back of the room: “On November 5 we will find out that they are liars and we will stick our noses in it. “

The big draw, of course, is Donald Trump. On the day he spoke, everyone had to go through a TSA-style security check. It took me an hour.

Every seat in the hall was occupied, with a massive crowd, reserved for status places, parked at the back.

Mr. Trump kept everyone waiting for an hour, while the impressive rock music made it almost impossible to communicate with his neighbor. This is arguably the soundtrack to America’s salvation. When Mr. Trump nonetheless intervened, it was for a deafening edition of Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA. “

After all the cheers died down, the first thing he said was, “I’ve won the ‘best speech at CPAC’ nine years in a row” and that he hoped to win again. Trump was limited to 30 minutes, and if he had stuck to his teleprompter, he would have finished on time, but he rambled for an hour and a half. ” If the corrupt Joe Biden wins again, 40 to 50 million illegal extraterrestrial beings will overwhelm our schools, our hospitals, our law enforcement. Some of the illegal immigrants are “Congolese prisoners who make our prisoners look like great guys. “”We have the worst border in the world. “

“Biden,” I learned, is “surrounded by a very bad group of fascists. “These fascists (Mr. Trump has used the word continuously) are “very wise but very ill people. “Or they’re stupid, and I don’t think they’re stupid. ” They need permanent dominance, and that’s because they’re in poor health, that’s why. “” If we don’t prevent it, it will be the end of “The only status between us and the annihilation of our country I am. . . me,” he said. Next November, “I’m going to say to corrupt Joe Biden, ‘You’re fired. ‘. ‘ Get out of here. ‘” (Frantic applause) He won in 2020, of course, but the election was rigged.

“I’ve been charged more times than Alphonse Capone, and all the accusations are,” he said. “These are Stalinist exhibition trials conducted on Biden’s orders. “The crime I have committed has been to protect the United States. “”We. ” We’re also going to have to start being mean [to them]. “For the Democrats, then, “November 5 will be the day of his judgment.

Trump has two priorities. First, “seal the border, prevent the invasion, and send them home. “”This will be the largest deportation in the history of the country. “(Applause) Second, “Pierce, pierce, pierce. ” Mr. Trump mimicked Joe Biden limping pathetically on stage. He told long stories about himself, in which he recounted conversations. Everyone, in addition to foreign heads of state, begins each and every sentence with “Sir” when addressing Donald Trump. He quoted Victor Orban: “Put Trump back in place and each and every problem in the world will be fixed. “He came out with shouts of joy and James Brown’s “Wait, I’m coming,” about an excellent man who comes to rescue a woman in extreme distress.

The audience was delighted; In t. Es possible that Trump would have continued for another 4 hours and the crowd would have been enthralled. I will vote for Mr. Trump for the third time, but I don’t feel any of his supposed charisma. I don’t like phrases like “And I told him, ‘I’m president of the United States and you’re shit to me,'” and vulgarity is the least of his flaws.

For me personally, CPAC is very different than it was two years ago. I’ve been identified by at least 10 times as many people as I was in Orlando. There were even dissident journalists who asked me for interviews.

On the first day, a left-handed troll I’d never heard of, Amanda Moore, so did I. He posted a photo, possibly hoping CPAC would kick me out.

Later that day, an official-looking black man asked me if Mr. Taylor and I thought he could walk me to the door. Instead, he was friends with a black woman, Elizabeth Wright, whom he greatly admired. She remembered that I had written a fond remembrance of her when she died in 2011, and wanted to shake my hand.

Yesterday, The Times of Israel reported that “racist extremists and those who praise Nazi ideology brazenly attended the Conservative Political Action Conference over the weekend, which appears to reflect a more tolerant stance on the part of the organizers of the annual occasion than in the past. years. The Times didn’t think it would consider mentioning me, but NBC News Digital’s deputy generation editor did. He called me the “founder of the Nazi publication and the online page American Renaissance. “

MSNBC was surprised (or pleased, I don’t know which) to note that “another influential white supremacist at the convention was Jared Taylor,” yet another “sign of the contiguity of mainstream conservatism with current white supremacist politics. “The New Republic wrote that “the Nazis at CPAC. . . they are now a common presence at the Conservative Conference. “These other people are idiots.

I made some smart contacts at CPAC and spent Saturday nights with a dozen great young people I’d never met before. We didn’t pass the pass once. I’m incredibly inspired by the quality of new people joining our movement. What I’ve written about Senator Tommy Tuberville is probably right: “Our greatest asset is our youth. “
